The Integrated Test Range (ITR), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), invites applications from young and meritorious Indian Nationals for the award of Research Fellowships. These fellowships are a unique opportunity for aspiring researchers to work at the forefront of defense technology and development.

Important Dates 

- Last Date for Application Submission: June 12, 2024, by 17:00 hrs

- Interview Date Notification: To be intimated later to shortlisted candidates via SMS/Email

 Fellowship Positions Available


1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

   - Educational Qualification:

     - B.E/B.Tech. in first division with valid GATE score, or

     - M.E/M.Tech. in first division both at graduate and post-graduate levels.

   - Disciplines:

     - Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

     - Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETC)

     - Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (E&I)

     - Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (A, E & I)

     - Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

     - Information Technology (IT)

   - Number of Vacancies: 02

   - Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years as of June 5, 2024 (Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC Candidates as per rules).

   - Emoluments: Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA and medical facilities as per rules.

   - Tenure: Maximum of 5 years (initially 2 years as JRF, extendable as SRF for 3 years subject to satisfactory performance).


2. Research Associate (RA)

   - Educational Qualification:

     - PhD or equivalent degree, or

     - M.E/M.Tech. with 3 years of research, teaching, and design & development experience plus publication of at least one research paper in a Science Citation indexed (SCI) journal.

   - Disciplines:

     - Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

     - Information Technology (IT)

     - Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

     - Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETC)

     - Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (E&I)

     - Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (A, E & I)

   - Number of Vacancies: 01

   - Age Limit: 

For JRF

28 years as on 05 June, 2024.

For Research Associate

Not exceeding 35 years as of June 5, 2024 (Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC Candidates as per rules).

   - Emoluments: Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA and medical facilities as per rules.

   - Tenure:  2 years extended upto 5 years. for JRF candidates

                      2 years for Research Associate.



Application Process


1. Check Eligibility: Verify educational qualifications and age limit.

2. Prepare Documents: Collect self-attested copies of required documents.

3. Fill Application Form: Type and sign the form (available on DRDO website.

4. Scan Documents: Create a single PDF file of the application and supporting documents.

5. Email Application: Send the PDF to hrd.itr@gov.in with the subject "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF JRF or RA".

6. Verify Submission: Ensure all details are correct and complete.

7. Monitor Communication: Keep email and phone active for updates.

8. Await Shortlist Notification: Watch for interview details via SMS/Email.Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS/Email regarding the date, timing, and mode (video conferencing or physical) of the interview.

9. Prepare for Interview: Gather originals and self-attested copies of required documents.

10. Attend Interview: Follow the schedule and attend with necessary documents.


Selected candidates will undergo police verification, medical tests, and antecedent verification as per government rules.
