Vacancy Details: 

2 positions - 1 Research Scientist (Purely on Contract Basis for 3 years) and 1 Project Associate-I

Eligibility Criteria:

  - Research Scientist: M.Sc. degree in Meteorology / Atmospheric Science with minimum 65% marks or CGPA/CPI of 6.84 on 10 scale

  - Project Associate-I: M.Sc. degree in Physics / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology with minimum 65% marks or CGPA/CPI of 6.84 on 10 scale.

Pay Scale:

- Research Scientist: Level 10 (Rs.56,100/- plus allowances as applicable)

- Project Associate-I: Rs.31,000/- + HRA per month (consolidated)


Age Limit:

  - Research Scientist: 28 years

  - Project Associate-I: 35 years for UR, 38 years for OBC, 40 years for SC/ST, 35 years for EWS

Selection Process

Research Scientist

1. All valid applicants will be called for a written test in Thiruvananthapuram.

2. The written test will have:

   - Part A (80 MCQs, 1 mark each, -1/3 negative marking, 90 mins)

   - Part B (max 15 MCQs, 20 marks, no negative marking, 30 mins)

3. Based on written test performance, candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5.

4. Qualifying criteria:

   - Written test: 50% each in Part A & B

   - Interview: 50 marks out of 100

   - Aggregate: 60%

5. Final selection will be based on 50% weightage to written test and 50% to interview.

Project Associate-I

1. Based on online applications, initial screening/written test will be conducted to shortlist candidates for interview.

2. If written test is used for preliminary screening, the score will not reflect in the final selection.

3. Final selection will be based on performance in the interview only.
