Who can apply???

The recruitment is open to serving Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors who meet the eligibility criteria specified in the advertisement, including age, educational qualifications, and length of service.

Eligibility criteria:-

The eligibility criteria for the CRPF Assistant Commandant (GD) Recruitment 2023 are as follows:


1. Age Limit: The upper age limit for appearing in the LDCE should not exceed 35 years as of 1st August 2023.


2. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university, as applicable to Assistant Commandant (Direct Entry).


3. Service: Candidates should have completed four years of regular service as of 1st January 2023 in the rank of Sub-Inspector/Inspector, including the period of training as prescribed in the Recruitment Rules of respective CAPFs. They should also have a clean record of service as per the rules prescribed by the concerned forces.


4. Physical Standards:

   - Height (Minimum in cms): 165 cms for males, 157 cms for females

   - Chest (Minimum in cms):

     - Male: 81 cms (unexpanded), 86 cms (expanded)

   - Weight (in Kgs):

     - Male: 50 kgs

     - Female: 46 kgs


5. Medical Standards: Candidates must be in Medical Category SHAPE – I (ONE) and meet the medical fitness standards prescribed by the Government for Assistant Commandant (GD) in Direct Entry.


6. Relaxation:

   - Age relaxation of five years is applicable for SC/ST candidates.

   - Overweight/underweight candidates will be allowed to participate in the recruitment process, subject to final decision by the medical authority at the time of Medical Examination.

Selection procedure:-

The selection procedure for the CRPF Assistant Commandant (GD) Recruitment 2023 consists of the following steps:


1. Written Examination:

   - Paper-I: Intelligence Test and General Knowledge (100 Marks, 100 Questions)

   - Paper-II: Professional Skill (100 Marks, 100 Questions)

   - Paper-III: Essay, Precis Writing, and Comprehension (100 Marks)

   - Qualifying marks: 45% in each paper and 50% in aggregate (40% and 45% for SC/ST candidates)


2. Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

   - Candidates who qualify the written examination will undergo PST & PET.

   - Physical standards include height, chest (for males), and weight.

   - PET includes events like a race, long jump, and shot put for males, and a race and long jump for females.

Physical Standard Test (PST):

- Male Candidates:

  - 100m race: 16 sec

  - 800m race: 3 min 45 sec

  - Long Jump: 3.50m

  - Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.): 4.50m


- Female Candidates:

  - 100m race: 18 sec

  - 800m race: 4 min 45 sec

  - Long Jump: 3.00m


Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

- Qualifying components:

  - Running: 100m/800m

  - Long Jump

  - Shot Put (for males)


3. Medical Examination:

   - Candidates who clear the PST & PET will undergo a medical examination conducted by the Medical Board of concerned CAPFs.

   - The medical examination will assess the candidate's physical and medical fitness based on the prescribed standards.


Medical Standards:

- SHAPE – I(ONE) medical category

- Must meet the standard prescribed for Assistant Commandant(GD) in the Direct Entry

- Pregnancy declaration required for female candidates at the time of PST/PET



4. Interview and Personality Test:

   - Candidates who qualify in the written examination, PST/PET, and medical examination will be called for an interview.

   - The interview will assess various aspects including physical make-up, general intelligence, aptitude, behavioral and psychological aspects, and achievements during service.

   - The interview will carry 100 marks.


5. Merit List:

   - On completion of all stages, including the interview, the Nodal Force (CRPF) will prepare the final merit list of candidates based on eligibility and performance.

   - A list of finally selected candidates will be sent to respective Directorate Generals for the issue of appointment offers.

Exam syllabus:-

The exam syllabus for the CRPF Assistant Commandant (GD) Recruitment 2023 includes the following subjects and topics:


1. Paper-I: Intelligence Test and General Knowledge:

   - General Awareness

   - General Intelligence

   - Reasoning

   - Numerical Ability

   - Current Events

   - Matters of everyday observation and experience


2. Paper-II: Professional Skill:

   - Designed to test professional skills of the candidate in relation to operational and administrative requirements of the respective Force they belong to.


3. Paper-III: Essay, Precis Writing, and Comprehension:

   - Essay Writing

   - Precis Writing

   - Comprehension

   - The medium of writing for the essay can be opted by the candidate as Hindi or English, while the medium for precis writing and comprehension will be English only.
