Hello everyone , everytime we come to get some new details about any new vacancy within our country. Today, as a part of that effort , we are going to see another notification released by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in its website.The said vacancy has notified for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant posts in various paramilitary forces of India.The total no.of posts for which notification has been released is 501.So, let us go through the details of the said notification:

Eligibility criteria:-

- Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible unless specified by the Central Government. Nepali and Bhutanese citizens may be eligible with written consent from the Central Government.
- Sex: Both male and female candidates can apply for the post of Assistant Commandants.
- Age Limits: - Minimum age: 20 years - Maximum age: 25 years as of 1st August 2024.
- Age Relaxation: - Up to 5 years for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). - Up to 3 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) eligible for reservation. - Up to 5 years for Civilian Central Government Servants and Ex-Servicemen, with a cumulative limit of 5 years. - Cumulative age relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC candidates also covered under Civilian Central Government Servants/Ex-Servicemen categories.
- Ex-Servicemen Criteria:
- Candidates must have completed the prescribed period of Armed Forces service within a year from the last date of receiving applications.
- The age concession applies to ex-servicemen, defined as those retired or relieved from Armed Forces service with pension entitlements.
-Documents valid for supporting date of birth - Matriculation/Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent recognised by an Indian University.
- No other documents like horoscopes or affidavits will be accepted.
- No Subsequent Changes Allowed:Once the date of birth is submitted and recorded by the Commission, no changes are permitted, except for inadvertent errors supported by specified documents before the exam date.
- Communication Requirements for Correction Requests: Any correction request should include specific details like examination name, registration ID, roll number, candidate's name, complete postal address, and valid email ID.

Educational qualification:-
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. - Equivalent qualifications from institutions established by Parliament or deemed universities are accepted. - Provisional admission is granted to candidates awaiting examination results. - Proof of passing the qualifying exam must be provided before the Detailed Application Form deadline. - Exceptional cases may be considered if candidates pass an examination recognized by the Commission. - Professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government are also accepted.

Examination fee:-
  • Examination fee is Rs. 200 for all candidates except Females/SC/ST.

Selection procedure:-
The selection procedure consists of the following phases: 1. Written Examination: - The written examination consists of two papers: Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence: - Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon - Marks: 250 - Type: Objective (Multiple Answers) - Language: English and Hindi - Content: Questions testing general ability and intelligence. Paper II: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension: - Time: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Marks: 200 - Language: English for all components - Content: Includes essay writing, precis writing, comprehension, and other language skills. . 2. Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests (PST/PET)** and **Medical Standards Tests: - After clearing the written examination, candidates undergo Physical Standards Tests (PST), Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), and Medical Standards Tests. Here are the details: 1. Physical Standards Tests (PST): - Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards specified in Appendix-VI.
Physical Standards:

Men:
- Height: 165 cm
- Chest: 81 cm (unexpanded) with a minimum 5 cm expansion
- Weight: 50 kg

Women:
- Height: 157 cm
- Chest: Not applicable
- Weight: 46 kg
2. Physical Efficiency Tests (PET): - Males: - 100 Meters race: Completed in 16 seconds. - 800 Meters race: Completed in 3 minutes 45 seconds. - Long Jump: Minimum 3.5 meters (3 chances). - Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.): Minimum 4.5 meters (3 chances). - Females: - 100 Meters race: Completed in 18 seconds. - 800 Meters race: Completed in 4 minutes 45 seconds. - Long Jump: Minimum 3.0 meters (3 chances). 3. Medical Standards Tests: - Conducted to check the standards specified in Appendix-V. - Candidates who clear the PET undergo medical examination. - Tests are conducted under the supervision of a designated Nodal Authority. - Appeals can be made against the medical standards tests within 24 hours after the declaration of results. Candidates need to meet the physical and medical standards to proceed to the Interview/Personality Test stage.



Medical Standards:

Eye Sight:
- Distant Vision: 6/6 in better eye, 6/12 or 6/9 in worse eye
- Near Vision: N6 in better eye, N9 in worse eye (corrected)

Carrying Angle:
- Male: Not more than 15˚
- Female: Not more than 20˚

Ear:
- No degree of deafness or persistent ear discharge

INose:
- No DNS, chronic sinusitis, or other nasal conditions

Neck:
- No enlarged lymph nodes, thyroid swelling, or cervical spine issues

Teeth:
- Sufficient number of sound teeth for efficient mastication

Venereal Disease:
- No active signs of clinical VD

Skin Diseases:
- No chronic skin diseases like leprosy or psoriasis

**General Standards:**
- Speech without impediment
- No chronic diseases like TB, arthritis, or diabetes
- Well-formed chest, limbs, hands, and feet
- No previous fractures or congenital defects
- Good mental and bodily health
- No TACHYCARDIA or BRADYCARDIA
- No hernia, hemorrhoids, or prolapse rectum

Tattoo Clause:
- Religious tattoos permitted on non-saluting limbs
- Size must be less than ¼ of the particular body part

Note: Medical Examination conducted as per revised guidelines issued by MHA. Candidates declared 'UNFIT' may appear before Review Medical Board.
3. Interview/Personality Test- - Qualified candidates from the Medical Standards Tests proceed to the Interview/Personality Test. 4. Final Selection/Merit- - Merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test. 5. Appeals and Review- - Appeals against Medical Standards Tests can be made within 24 hours, and Review Medical Board may be convened. 6. Detailed Application Form (DAF)- - Shortlisted candidates are issued DAF to indicate their preferences of Forces. 7. Supervision- - Tests and Interviews are conducted under the supervision of a Nodal Authority appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. These phases ensure a comprehensive evaluation of candidates' abilities, physical fitness, and medical suitability for the position of Assistant Commandants.

Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension**
- Part-A: Essay (80 Marks)
  - Modern Indian history

  - Polity and economy
  - Knowledge of security and human rights issues
  - Analytical ability
- Part-B: Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills (120 Marks)
  - Comprehension passages
  - Précis writing
  - Developing counter arguments
  - Simple grammar and other language testing aspects

How to apply??

1. Visit www.upsconline.nic.in to apply online.

2. Complete the Online Application Form in two stages: Part-I and Part-II.

3. Pay the application fee of Rs. 200/- (except for SC/ST/Female candidates) through SBI, online banking, or debit/credit card.

4. Scan and upload your photograph and signature in .jpg format (size between 20 KB to 300 KB each).

5. Provide details of a valid photo ID such as Aadhar Card, Voter Card, PAN Card, etc.

6. Online applications are open from 24th April, 2024 to 14th May, 2024 till 18:00 Hrs.

7. Ensure you provide a valid and active E-Mail ID for communication from the Commission.

8. Check your e-mail regularly, ensuring messages from @nic.in are directed to your inbox.

9. Apply online well before the deadline to avoid last-minute rush.
